Gents - There will be an investigation done in the Connecticut case where Gov. Ned Lamont claimed yesterday a 6-week old died as a result of a link to COVID 19. The child died as a result of a freak in-home accident and the first responders are talking. The death had zero to do with COVID. It would be like saying a child was hit by a car but died of leukemia. That’s how fabricated this story is and how deceiving this governor is being right now.

Post mortem, this child was given a test for COVID and was asymptomatic so the governor claimed the child died was a result of a linkage to the virus. In no way shape or form did this child die as a result of COVID. It was a terrible tragic accident.

Why would he lie? Easy, the state wants COVID money to fund things they have never been able to fund before.

This is dishonest and is creating panic in communities.

Again, this virus is real and men/women are taking advantage of the situation. Call me all the names you want but I’ll follow this as an investigation takes place. He’s lying and first responders have had enough.

i'll have to dig up the articles but it came from several sources that hospitals are telling their staff to classify ANYONE that dies testing positive for Covid-19 be listed as a C-19 death so they can get more federal funds. This became known through whistleblowers on the hospital staff and is directly related to the >$100B passed in the stimulus that is funneled to hospitals with higher rates of positive Covid-19 tests

take any govt program and folks will find a way to abuse it...just a fact of life

Assuming this is accurate, how does one incident justify accusing multiple politicians for multiple deaths?

To me, more likely is higher ups trying to hide deaths and reassure counties that have yet to turn chaotic

Dude, this activity is being reported all over the U.S. The classifying of deaths as COVID related with no autopsies. Follow the money.

Chop, you can think whatever you want about me but these people are lying to boost their COVID numbers. Look the other way or confront the reality.

While Lamont suggested that the baby died because of coronavirus, as reported by CT Post, chief medical examiner Dr. James Gill “said the actual cause of death has not yet been established.”

“The infant did test positive for the COVID-19 virus and an autopsy was done at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner,” Gill said in an email to the outlet. “At the current time, we have not issued a final cause of death. There are numerous tests that we must do on infant deaths before issuing a final cause of death. We cannot discuss the specifics of an investigation.”

On Wednesday, conservative pundit Candace Owens torched the governor of her dwelling state after he introduced what he referred to as “the first pediatric fatality in Connecticut linked to COVID-19,” regardless of his spokesman admitting nobody has really confirmed what induced the loss of life of the kid.

The chief medical officer concerned even instructed reporters that they “have not issued a final cause of death.”

“It is with heartbreaking sadness today that we can confirm the first pediatric fatality in Connecticut linked to [COVID-19],” Democratic Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont introduced on Twitter Wednesday. “A 6-week-old newborn from the Hartford area was brought unresponsive to a hospital late last week and could not be revived.”

“Testing confirmed last night that the newborn was COVID-19 positive,” the governor continued. “This is absolutely heartbreaking. We believe this is one of the youngest lives lost anywhere due to complications relating to COVID-19.”

“This is a virus that attacks our most fragile without mercy,” Lamont wrote. “This also stresses the importance of staying home and limiting exposure to other people. Your life and the lives of others could literally depend on it. Our prayers are with the family at this difficult time.”

Owens has members of the family in Connecticut and went after Lamont for what she referred to as “scaring mothers” by “partial information” and “political doublespeak.”

“‘Linked to Covid-19’. What the hell does that mean?” Owens wrote in a collection of tweets in response to Lamont. “Did the newborn have pre-existing conditions— yes or no? Did the infant die OF coronavirus yes or no? STOP with this political doublespeak. Scaring mothers of newborns with partial information is SCUM BEHAVIOR.”

“‘Complicated by’ ‘Linked to’, has anybody else realized that ALL of these death announcements provide partial information?” Owens wrote in one other publish. “If you are going to start using the death of infants to scare people into doing what you want, you better start providing FULL information, [Gov. Lamont].”

“Both of my sisters, who live in a Connecticut, gave birth for the first time in these past 3 [coronavirus] weeks,” Owens added, “What I am demanding, is that [Gov. Lamont] be more responsible and tell mothers the FULL picture, so as not to inspire undue mass panic.”

“Two things can be true at once: the [coronavirus] can be real, and corrupt politicians like [Gov. Lamont] and [Gov. Andrew Cuomo] can be lying to extract money from the federal government because their socialist-run states are out of money,” she added in one other publish later. “Both are true.”

You mean there are Malthusian outcomes that stem from a global pandemic?

One more reason the smart people said this was a big deal.

State governments are lying to you.

Questions arise after teen's death was initially linked to coronavirus in California

<cite class="el-editorial-source" style="box-sizing: border-box; font-family: CNN, "Helvetica Neue", Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif; font-style: normal; font-weight: 700;">(CNN)</cite>California health officials are reevaluating the death of a 17-year-old boy from coronavirus, saying his case is "complex" and needs further investigation.

The Lancaster teen was initially described as the first known juvenile to die from the coronavirus in the United States.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health attributed his death to coronavirus Tuesday. Later that evening, officials backpedaled, saying his case needs more review by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The teen's case has grown more complicated between local and county officials. In an interview with CNN on Wednesday, Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris said the teen died a week ago on March 18.

"On Friday he was fine, on Wednesday he was dead," the mayor said. "That's five days." The mayor criticized the period it took county officials to determine his death. "I can't believe it took a week to find out a child in my city died," Parris said.

Teen was turned away at urgent care, mayor says

The mayor said he spoke to the teen's distraught father, who gave him more details on what happened.

When the teen became ill, his parents took him to an urgent care center and were turned away because he didn't have health insurance, Parris said. He was then taken to an emergency room at a local hospital.

"When a kid comes in respiratory distress, stabilize him and call ambulance, don't ask for insurance," Parris fumed. He said he's not aware of any health issues the teen may have had.

The teen was tested for coronavirus at a hospital and when the results came out, his parents were also told they were infected with the virus, but had not been tested, the mayor said. It's unclear how long it took to get the results.

In a statement Tuesday night, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health said it's looking into the case further. "Though early tests indicated a positive result for Covid-19, the case is complex and there may be an alternate explanation for this fatality. Patient privacy prevents our offering further details at this time," it said in a statement.

The county health agency did not respond to additional CNN questions about the case.

A friend of the teen who attends Lancaster High School also tested positive for coronavirus, the mayor said. So did the friend's father.

The teen's father is also concerned for the people who were hugging and shaking hands at the funeral, Parris said. It's unclear whether they knew the teen had died of coronavirus at the time.

Lancaster is in northern Los Angeles County, and has a population of about 160,000.

California cases are skyrocketing

The nation's most populous state ordered its nearly 40 million residents to stay home to prevent the spread of the deadly coronavirus. The order went into effect last week, meaning Californians should not leave home except for essential things such as food, prescriptions, health care and commuting to jobs considered crucial. The restrictions will remain in place until further notice.

The number of coronavirus cases in the state is doubling every three to four days, said Dr. Mark Ghaly, secretary of California Health and Human Services.

"We originally thought that it would be doubling every six to seven days and we see cases doubling every three to four days," Ghaly said.

There are more than 65,000 cases of coronavirus in the US, according to CNN tally of cases detected and tested through public health systems. More than 900 people have died. California has recorded more than 2,500 cases and 53 deaths.

I didn't say you were dumb, I said I was smart and correct when it came to the big picture on all of this. You just chose to take it that way.

But you mean to tell me a bunch of broke states are angle shooting for money with a broke federal government in a time of peril and uncertainty?

I mean, who could've seen that coming?

And so when you see a trend in which this is happening, you don't question what the numbers say or what the Governors are reporting because I sure do.

I hope you're wrong actually. I'd rather be right given this situation and what that means.

Wrong about what? It is a problem and going to be for the foreseeable future, with multi-year ramifications from the fallout. Has nothing to do with what would be an ideal outcome, has to do with objectivity.

That has already been etched in stone, although the scope of the impact would be for another thread.

As far as the shenanigans at the state level, like I said, predictable. No honor among thieves, and politicians aren't far from thieves.

When I'm talking wrong vs. right I'm strictly talking about lives not second or third order effects the virus will cause into the future.
